This is the fourth year that Dyann and I are privileged to celebrate Christmas with you, our Unity of Bellingham community! We are so grateful for your continued love, prayers and kindness; and we affirm that Christmas’s transformative power is uplifting us all.
Each year I love to reflect on the Christmas story in the gospels of Luke and Matthew. The heroines and heroes of the stories did not have it easy. Along with living in an occupied territory and having to deal with repressive armies, they found themselves engaging with angels, mysterious pregnancies, and Spirit’s calling upon their lives in ways they could not fully understand. Can you imagine how both terrifying and exciting it might have felt for them? Perhaps you find that our current times call you to feel both the magnitude of events taking place in our world, as well as the deep calling into your Divine connection?
Like Mary and Joseph, this is indeed our time to listen and our turn to respond to the calling of our times. This is our Christmas 2024 – when Christ is recognized as born to us, through us, as us.
And not only to each of us as individuals - Christ is born anew for Unity of Bellingham, for our city, and for the world that is so ready for a rebirth of Love.
What an awesome place to be! What a great time to be here! What an amazing story to be a part of – birthing the Christ within and without! The entire cosmos is encouraging us, Love abounds, and exciting possibilities are at hand!
